How to Cook Eggs
Eggs are simple, but they can be cooked in many beautiful ways. This GardenZ Kitchen guide shows you how to make soft boiled, hard boiled, scrambled, fried, poached and a French style omelet step by step, using fresh GardenZ Organic Eggs.
Soft Boiled
Saucepan · Water · Eggs
Soft boiled eggs are warm and very comforting. The yolk stays soft and creamy inside the shell.
- Place cold eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Put the pan on medium heat and bring the water to a gentle boil.
- When the water starts boiling, cook the eggs for about six and a half minutes.
- Move the eggs into cold water for two minutes, then peel and enjoy.

Scrambled
Skillet · Butter · Eggs
Slow cooking gives you soft and creamy scrambled eggs.
- Use low heat. Scrambled eggs like gentle and slow cooking.
- Add about half a tablespoon of butter to the skillet for four eggs.
- Whisk the eggs in a bowl until the yolks and whites are mixed well.
- Pour the eggs into the warm skillet and stir slowly with a spatula until they are just set and still soft.

Over Easy
Skillet · Butter · Eggs
Over easy eggs have cooked whites and a runny yolk.
- Melt a little butter in a non stick skillet on low heat.
- Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the whites turn opaque and are no longer see through.
- Gently flip the egg with a spatula and cook for a short time until the top sets but the yolk is still soft. For over medium eggs, cook a little longer.

Poached
Saucepan · Water · Vinegar · Salt · Egg
Poached eggs look special but are easy with a little care.
- Fill a saucepan with water, about five to six centimetres deep. Add one tablespoon of white vinegar and a small pinch of salt.
- Heat the water until it reaches a light boil. You should see small bubbles, not strong boiling.
- Crack a fresh egg into a small bowl. Gently slide the egg from the bowl into the water.
- Cook for about three minutes until the white is set and the yolk is still soft, then lift the egg out with a slotted spoon.

Crispy Fried
Skillet · Butter · Eggs
Crispy fried eggs have golden edges and a rich flavour.
- Warm a little butter in a skillet on medium heat.
- Crack the egg into the skillet. When the edges start to sizzle, reduce the heat to low.
- Cook until the yolk reaches the firmness you like and the whites become slightly brown at the edges.

Fancy French Omelet
Skillet · Butter · Eggs · Salt
This omelet is soft inside and smooth outside. It feels like a restaurant breakfast at home.
- Whisk the eggs in a bowl until the mixture looks smooth and even.
- Heat a non stick skillet on medium low heat and add butter. The butter should melt without strong sizzling.
- Pour the eggs into the skillet and stir gently and continuously with a spatula.
- When the eggs start to set but are still soft, stop stirring and let the pan sit off the heat for one minute.
- Tilt the pan and carefully roll the omelet into a long shape. Slide it onto a plate and finish with a little extra butter and a small sprinkle of salt.

Hard Boiled
Saucepan · Water · Eggs
Hard boiled eggs are perfect for salads, sandwiches and lunch boxes.
- Place the eggs in a saucepan in a single layer and cover with cold water.
- Bring the water to a full boil on medium heat.
- Once boiling, cook the eggs for about ten minutes.
- Move the eggs into cold water, let them cool a little, then peel and serve or store in the fridge.
